Lost out in an ocean of dunes
The tide rolled in to stay there for Good
Will my satellite pull me like a rip?
I hope to flow into an oasis
Now along the waves sculpted out of quartz
I came across a flower among thorns
And scoured through an index of design
Found poems many travelers felt inclined
To write about her

"If Mansa Musa knew of this efflorescent sway
Then Cairo would have never seen that empyreal parade
The palaces, the Persian silk and every last mosque
He would have given up for this one work of art
And with his own hands molded a vase
A simple haven that heaven would've admired
And then he would have been the richest man alive"

Night abrogates any sight of shore
The sand is cold, my bed is made by yours
Will I realize I need to leave?
Your grace remains, can't say the same for me
Now I'm burning books just to keep warm
I never meant to alliterate my soul
I save a page barely singed by Void
Attempt to paint a thousand words or more
I gently brush:

The dormant heart of men have all been made molten
And forged into vestibules lined with velvet care
If Mauna Loa ever choked I think I'd be an heir to the throne
Reign over devotion
And with my own blood give birth to islands
Just like all the lands you see forming around Hawaii
